- January 7th: Assassination of Knud Lavard.

Beginning of the reign of Foulque V of Anjou the Young person, Christian king of Jerusalem (fine in 1143).
- August 21st: Died of the king de Jérusalem Baudouin II. As it does not have a male heir, Foulque of Anjou, recently arrived of Europe by sea, succeeds to him.
