Hill

A hill is a Relief generally moderate and relatively not very wide which rises with the top of a Plaine or of a plate and disingue in the Paysage. The hills can be isolated or gather in fields of hills.

Contrary to the Anglo-Saxon countries which distinguish the hills ( hills ) from the Montagne S ( mountains ) according to their Dénivelé (the limit is with approximately 600 meters), it does not exist in French of official limit.

In particular, as modest hills (from 100 to 600 meters), “mounts” or “mountain are sometimes described” when their form is abrupt, or when their presence contrasts much in a very flat landscape, or when they constitute a rather wide barrier at the horizon.

In French, this denomination “hill” is thus very subjective.
