Hildólf

In the Scandinavian Mythology, Hildólf or Hildólfr (“Wolf of the combat” in Old norrois) are probably one of the names of Odin. It is also the name of one of the Fils of Odin according to a Thula .

Hildólf is initially mentioned in the Hárbardsljód (8). In this poem eddic, Odin, being presented in the form of a frontier runner of the name of Hárbard, refuse to make cross a river to Thor. When this last requires of him with which belongs the vat, Odin/Hárbard answers him that its owner names Hildólf, that it describes like a sagacious warrior ( “ráðsvinn” ) living in Rádseyjarsund. It is generally allowed that Hildólf is synonymous with Odin.

Hildólf is also one of the children of Odin according to the thula of wire of Odin appearing in several editions of the Edda de Snorri . No other source makes it possible however to confirm the exactitude of this fact.
