Highway area rest and service
A surface of highway is a series of infrastructures established in edge of Autoroute (and more and more often on certain trunk roads) similar to simple carparks concerning the areas services , generally equipped with toilets and tables of picnic with sometimes a space of plays for children.
Some of them evolved/moved and are called areas rest , while being equipped with a Station-service. A Cafeteria and a Restaurant sometimes followed by a Hôtel were added there.
The service areas are generally established every fifteen kilometers and the areas rest all the forty-five kilometers. On the free highways of great connection like A20 and A75 (in France) which are highways of which the major part of the layout is not conceded and, consequently, see the intervals of establishment of these surfaces increasing.
In France, the rest areas generally take the name of the Village or Lieu-dit nearest. The service areas often take as for them the name of the important Ville nearest. The surface of the Sarthe-Sargé-the-Mans for example is a surface of the highway A11 (which connects Paris to Nantes via Mans and Angers).
