Highway 6
Québécois Highway in the past projected, the highway 6 existed forever elsewhere only on the drawing tables of the Ministry for transport of Quebec. Project planned with the beginning of the year 1970, era of great work in Quebec, the highway 6 would have borrowed the same layout appreciably as the road 104. It was expected that it just begins with the Meadow on the Autoroute 15 in the south from the Saint-Jacob river, for then following the southern bank of this river until the Autoroute 30, then from there, to stretch itself towards Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, initially, then towards Farnham and Cowansville.
Certain indices enable us to believe that the highway 6 came well close existing. In regardans the air photographs of the area, more particularly on the level of the Highway 15 and Boulevard Taschereau (road 134), it are possible to see certain installations built according to the highway 6 . Originally, the layout of the Autoroute 15 let see the site of an exchanger in T directional, but in 2005 this section was rebuilt making impossible the construction of an exchanger with this configuration. One also can constaster that the river at summer diverted with several places, and this for probably making place with the highway. Then, according to a report deposited in front of the Office of public sittings on the environment (BAPE) at the time of audiences concerning the prolongation of the Highway 35 between Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu and the border of the Vermont, one speaks there about work carried out for the construction of a road between Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu and Farnham. According to certain old road maps, it would be indeed about the highway 6 . In the municipality of Farnham-Rainville, a small not asphalted portion of this road exists indeed. This section is currently used like tracks atterissage by a club of local parachuting. The physical junction with road 104 is quite visible and of the concrete blocks the access to the towing vehicles blocks.
