Highjump operation
Operation Highjump (OpHjp) , officially entitled The United States Navy Antarctic Developments Program, 1946-47 (naval Program étatsunien of development in the Antarctic, 1946-47), was an operation étatsunienne organized by the admiral Richard E. Byrd in the Antarctic under the command of Richard Cruzen. It was launched the August 26th 1946 and lasted until 1947. This impressive deployment of force called upon 4700 men, 13 ships and of many planes.
