Higher Pannonia
The higher Pannonia is old a Roman Province included in the Pannonia, divided into two by the emperor Trajan towards 105 a. J. - C.:
-
the Pannonia higher than the west.
- the Pannonia lower than the east.
These qualifiers are determined by the direction of the course of the the Danube.
History

Localization
It included part of the current Hungary, as well as Austria, Croatia, Slovenia, Bosnia-Herzégovine and Slovakia. Defined into 106, its borders were modified slightly in 214: part of its territory was allotted to the twin province of lower Pannonia, in particular the area of Brigetio

The capital was Carnuntum (today in Austria).

- Siscia (today Sisak, Croatia), seat of a monetary Workshop since Gallien until worms 410 a. J. - C.
- Vindobona (today Vienna, Austria), which accommodated the general headquarter of the emperor Marc-Aurèle in his war against the Quades and the Marcomans.
