High ranking authority of the audio-visual communication

The High ranking authority of the audio-visual communication (often shortened in High ranking authority ) was the first organization French of regulation of the Audiovisuel of 1982 with 1986.

The High ranking authority was created by the law n°82-652 of the July 29th 1982. It was, inter alia missions, charged to guarantee the independence of the public service of sound broadcasting and to deliver the authorizations as regards service buildings of sound broadcasting by hertzian way . For this reason, it is it which allotted the frequencies of the radio S private FM being born.

It is during its mandate that were created the private television channels Canal+ and the Five.

It was chaired by Michele Cotta.

She was replaced in 1986 by the National Commission of the communication and freedoms.
