Le group High Tone was created in 1997 with Lyon on the slopes of the Russet-red Croix. As of its beginnings on the independent label Jarring Effects the group enjoys a total artistic freedom and mixture good number of musical influences: dub jamaïcain of the years 1970, Hip-hop, Jungle, Drum' low, Techno, Eastern sonorities. Resolutely novo dub - perhaps even the instigator of this style - the group High Tone is characterized by a powerful dub truffle of effects. Dj Twelve handles the Samples and the Scratch on each piece.

High Thunders fate its first Vinyl Bot Bud Seasons in 1997. It will be followed by Low Tone , new maximum 4 titles also published in CD which will be used as promotion. In 2000 the true first disc of the group leaves, Opus Incertum . High Thunders, with the groups Improvisators Dub or Zenzile is then the pioneers of a sound dub recorded in live version direct, in opposition to the remixée music.

New a 45T Bass Temperature is published in 2001 immediately followed by CD Bass Temperature which gathers on the same wafer the three maxis of the group. High Tone continues its adventure Studio in 2002 with Acid Dub Nucleik (ADN) . The same year Dj Twelve and the guitarist Aku Fen deviate slightly to carry out the soundtrack of the spectacle of Contemporary dance Lenteur .

In 2003 the group produces ultimate maximum with the group Kaly Live Dub. Kaltone is a meeting of old friends, representative of the Lyons dub. Spring 2003 is also the occasion to record Live whose environment testifies to the energy of the group. Nouveau riche of its experiment with Kaly, High Tone mixes again in 2004 with Improvisators Dub. Highvisators proposes one revisits principal titles of the two groups.

The year 2005 sees leaving two albums, Wave Digger where the group distills a very experimental dub impresses of electronics and Wangtone fruit of a collaboration with DJ Chinese Wang Leï. Then High Thunders Zenzile meeting on the album Zentone appeared in 2006. The principle remains the same one with each one of these meetings: to divide titles, to divide versions. Also leaves in the vats Re-processed #1 album remix the titles the group by the People the Grass, Hybrid Sound System, the egg Raide, Reverse Engineering and Interlope.

For all the compositions the 5 musicians of the group meet in a room where a MiniDisc permanently turns in order to collect the musical good moments of the day. Then work comes from réécoute and selection of passages which seem interesting. Finally the final creation of the piece is done in repetition or on a computer, only or has several according to the cases. The combo is also famous for its scenic services where the play of the musicians is accentuated by video projections and lumières.
