High School King Baudouin
The High School King Baudouin (HERB) is an establishment of higher education of the types short and long whose seat is located at Mons, in Belgium.
History
Within the framework of the reform of the Higher education in the French Community of Belgium, a decree envisaged the creation of high schools to only replace the multiple institutes of higher education proposing some sections. It is thus into 1996 that the High School King Baudouin was founded, establishing its head office Chaussée of Roeulx in Mons. The institutes which were gathered:
- Institute Queen Astrid Catholic (IRAM) Mons
- Industrial Institute of higher learning of Hainaut (Charleroi-ISICHt)
- Catholic Industrial Institute of higher learning of Hainaut (Mons-ISICHt)
- Institute of higher learning of the Social sciences Applied (ISSHA)
- Economic Institute of higher learning of Formation of Center (ISFEC)
- School of male nurses & nurses St-Philippe de Jolimont
- Teacher training school of Braine-the-Count (ENBLC)
A new building is in construction since May 2007 on a ground of the campus of FUCaM, with the Roadway of Binche. This construction, which should gather the ex-IRAM gradually, the ex-ISICHt (Mons) and the ex-ISSHA, causes enthusiasm (reduction of the costs, modern building, several thousands of students within the same building) and criticisms (cost of construction, outdistances high downtown area). The term planned for the first phase is the re-entry 2008, to which certain sections should move in there.
