High Coast
The High Coast ( Höga kusten in Swedish) is part of the Swedish coast of the Gulf of Bothnia, located on the communes of Kramfors, Härnösand and Örnsköldsvik. This site recognized for research on the Isostasy, the phenomenon having been recognized and studied for the first time in this area. Since the end of the last Glaciation, the area knew a raising of about 285 meters, involving the emergence of new grounds.
In 2000, the High coast was registered on the Liste of the world heritage of UNESCO.
