Hide

Hideto Matsumoto () known as hide (without capital letter), marked // is a Musicien Japanese, Guitariste of the rock group X Japan, born the December 13rd 1964 and dead the May 2nd 1998.

Biography

Hide was born on December 13rd, 1964 with Yokosuka with the Japan. Teenager, it discovers the rock'n'roll, in particular thanks to KIS, and it is of this period that its passion for the music would come to him. It devotes its spare time to play of the guitar, and whereas it makes studies to become hairdresser, hide joined the group Yokosuka Saver Tiger . The latter ends up separating, and it is at this time, about 1987, that Yoshiki Hayashi, leader of X Japan, contacts it. The group then seeks musicians to supplement his formation, and hide is selected.

The group is a certain success. About 1993-1994, X knows one period of hollow. Hide then decides to launch out in a career solo. It had been already tested with the composition (music and/or words) within the group X Japan with songs like Joker or Sadistic Desire . However, it wishes even further outward journey, and the August 5th 1993 leaves its first individual, 50% & 50% , followed Eyes Love You and DICE . The album Hide Your Face leaves in February 1994. Hide then created its own label, LEMOned. It launches also its own line of Vêtement S.

In 1997, X Japan separates. Hide however keeps with Yoshiki the project to reform the group. It is this same year that Hide decides to assemble a group with “international” musicians. Zilch is born thus: a group with the heavier sounds, but especially made up American members. It continues in parallel its career solo with Japanese friends already (called Spread Beaver) on its first rounds solo. It leaves to the beginning of the year 1998 Rocket Dive .

Hide dies on May 2nd, 1998: it is found by its joint tenant, hung with a towel with the handle of the bathroom of its apartment with Tokyo. These unusual circumstances let think that it is about a suicide, but the recording company of Hide, like Yoshiki Hayashi, estimate that it was about an accident. Three teenagers fans of the singer commit suicide with the advertisement of its death, and at the time of its burial, an about sixty people must be hospitalized.
