Hidan

Hidan is a character of the manga Naruto.

What follows reveals the history starting from chapter 312 of the manga.

Hidan intervenes for the first time at the end of chapter 312 of Naruto. It is a novel member of the organization Akatsuki (it would have entered there only recently) and made team with Kakuzu. It has the ring carrying the inscription " Trois" (" San") on its left index. It is a deserter, but one is unaware of however which country it is originating, because the sign engraved on its stringcourse (three bars) is associated with no known village (can be at the village of the river, or with its religion).

Description

Hidan belongs to the religion of Jashin (jashinism), a god who preaches the total destruction of any forms of life. All that is lower than the destruction is regarded as a sin, for this reason Hidan hates considerably to have to capture alive adversaries. Enthusiastic believer, it requests before each combat to be carried out with a chain of pearl where the symbol of this religion is hung (an equilateral triangle in a circle), and when the battle is finished, it follows a ritual during which there must remain lengthened in his symbol traced on the ground, a lance planted in the body and request during 30 minutes. In addition he hates the side materialist of his Kakuzu partner in connection with the money, to which he does not attach any importance, and hates to be stopped in a combat as to follow the orders which are imposed to him by Pein the chief of Akatsuki, that he does not respect absolutely, going until insulting it in front of the members of the organization. He is of a rather impulsive temperament and violent one, not hesitating to sink head lowered towards the danger whatever the risks, and this, for a simple reason: it with the characteristic to be immortal! Indeed, although it can receive wounds, it cannot in no case to die about it, whatever their gravity (it is decapitated in its combat against Asuma, which however does not prevent its head continuing to live and from insulting its adversary) and cures those very quickly (its head is recousue with its body by Kakuzu).

Akatsuki

Hidan does not get along with Kakuzu, but it is constrained to make team with him: Kakuzu already killed several former associates at the time D `access of fury, out that is impossible with Hidan, because of its immortality. Nevertheless, they form a very powerful duet during the engagements and fight much equips some, combining their capacities effectively according to the other. Kakuzu can attack the remote adversary without being concerned with safety of Hidan, while this one badgers it with the body-with-body. To fight, it makes use of a scythe with 3 blades which it uses as a projectile which he can order using a cord rolled up around his wrist, and which would make of him, according to its dires, the slowest member of Akatsuki. This scythe would not be used to kill the enemy, but rather to inflict wounds to him and to make run its blood, essential to carry out its very particular ritual which will cause “to connect it” to him, and which is held in several stages.

Initially Hidan must trace on the ground the emblem of its religion, namely an equilateral triangle in a circle with its own blood. Then with the da assistance its scythe, it takes blood with the enemy (some drops are enough) that it swallows, and as from this moment, a kind of " connection " invisible will connect them both, and will cause a physical metamorphosis of Hidan: its skin becomes black, and of the white features appear along its body, in particular where the bones are located. This aspect makes it more alarming and the fact of resembling a kind of " reaper of the mort". Finally Hidan turns over on its mark traced on the ground: as of this moment, all the wounds that Hidan receives will be also inflicted with the enemy. At this point in time Hidan, using a lance, is mutilated and wounded at precise places of its body, causing an intense suffering at his place and its adversary, and even seems to enormously find pleasure to be hurt (because it feels the pain well, but does not risk anything thanks to its immortality). After having sufficiently " played " with the enemy, it gives him the death-blow while being stabbed in full heart, and the feeling to feel the other to die causes at Hidan an intense impression of wellbeing, associated with an extreme pleasure. This technique is effective only if it remains on its emblem on the ground, if it leaves it, the bond always exists and the transformation remains, but the wounds are not divided any more.

Defeat

One sees it fighting against Nibi, the monks of the temples of fire, the team of Asuma, where Hidan, although touched at several point vital and even decapitated, manages to kill Asuma by its ritual, and against the team of Kakashi. In chapter 339, it will be beaten by Shikamaru thanks to a trap tended by this one, in the crowned forest of Nara: its body is put in part at blows of explosive parchments (lit by Shikamaru thanks to a cigarette in homage to its Asuma Master), then the pieces are buried by rocks in a hole. It is not truly dead because its head being intact, it could always speak and threaten Shikamaru to be avenged for the bottom of " its tombe" ! But buried under several meters of ground and its body of piece, (consequently completely immobilized), it is improbable that there can arise one day and thus will remain probably hidden for " the éternité". It should be noted that if Hidan is not truly dead, he is regarded as such by the Akatsuki organization.

Techniques

  • Kami No Sabaki: Judgment of God

Technique of curse, consists in binding two people between them psychiquement. All the wounds which the invoker receives are also felt by the person with whom it is dependant.

Note

  • the technique which Hidan carries out resembles on certain point a ritual voodoo, in particular with the mark traced on the ground, physical appearance after the metamorphosis which points out much the Baron Samedi, known figure of voodoo cult, or the fact of inflicting remote pains, as with the headstocks voodoo.

  • Although immortal, it is put out of state to harm only 27 chapters after its first appearance, by making the member of appeared Akatsuki living the least longest in the manga, followed closely by Kakuzu which appeared alive in 31 chapters. Even Sasori, however first member demolishes, had held approximately 45 chapters.
