Hicham Ier (Omeyyade)

“rear-Razî” Abû Al-Walîd Hichâm Ben `rear-Rahmân Abd or Hichâm Ier (Arabic: rear RTL أبوالوليد " الرضي" هشامبنعبدالرحمن), is the son of `Abd rear-Rahmân I {{er}} founder of the dynasties of the emir S Omeyyades de Cordoue. It was born in 757, it succeeded his father in 788 and died in 796, at the 39 years age.
Biography
According to a legend Abd Al-Rahman Ier would have hesitated between its two sons Suleiman and Hisham to designate its successor. After a discrete investigation, it would have rejected Suleiman, surrounded by flattering and of discharged, to choose Hisham, surrounded much better. That this legend is veracious or not, it certain that Suleiman did not agree to be isolated throne and revolted as of the advent of Hicham the Ist meeting between the two armies took place close to Jaen and Suleiman, is beaten, was folded up with Tolède, from where Hicham dislodged it, exiling it in North Africa. It was the only revolt of importance of its reign.Hicham benefitted from the calm interior to launch several holy wars against the Christians:
- in 791 against the king Bermude Ier of Asturies, which it beats with Burbia.
- in 793 against the frank duke Guillaume de Gellone, which it beats on banks of Orbieu close to Narbonne.
- in 794, 795 and 796, by several forwardings of plundering in the kingdom of Asturies.
It is in fact of the actions of guerilla where each one seeks to exhaust its adversary economically, and has to bring back spoils.
During its reign, the Andalusian Moslems adopted the Malékisme.
