Hières-sur-Amby
Hières-sur-Amby is a common French, located in the department of the Isere and the area the Rhone-Alps.
Geography
The commune is with the junction of two distinct morphological units: Isle Crémieu and the plain of the Lyons East, 150 m downwards. The alpine rising of the tertiary sector contributed to the raising and the swing of the plate of Isle Crémieu, primarily made of limestones secondary. The Western fault is underlined by cliffs that the Rhone circumvents. The plain, deep depression between the old bases of the Massif Central and the Alps, filled little by little secondary deposits then tertiary, was finally modelled by the projections and moved back glacial of the quaternary one, whose last phase will finalize the broad outlines of the current relief. The communes of Hières thus developed on a morainic remainder with the culminating foot of cliffs with the neighborhoods of 213 Mr.
History
Hières on Amby belongs to Gaulle Narbonnese, ground of Allobroges in the part septentrional and conquered as of IIè front century J.C. ; this territory extends, according to the texts, to the Rhone. The people which occupy the remainder of Gaulle will remain independent until the next century. The Graeco-Roman civilization then will modify the rural areas, to establish agricultural vast domains, the villae, to create or reinforce urban centres. After the fall of the Roman Empire, during the Early middle ages, the area knows an episode burgonde whose habitat height and necropolis of Larina are partly contemporary. Then Mérovingiens and Carolingiens follow one another, within a framework of life in largely rural matter. During the Low Middle Ages, starting from Xe century, the hierarchisation of the capacities is reinforced and feudality settles. The name of the parish of Hières appears for the first time in 1291 in a sale contract. About 1300, those of Marignieu and Etienne Saint are also mentioned. Later, the hamlets of Bourcieu and the strong house of Hières crystallize of other habitats. The church of Marignieu ceases existing with XVIIè S., replaced by that of the Brush on Balme. The church of Etienne Saint is ruined with XVIIIè S. and the offices are transferred on Hières. The castle of Hières is on a headland at the exit of the Valley of Amby in the north of the borough. The building was burned under the revolution, the current building reflect contemporary rebuildings. Until the medium of XIXè S., the local resources were based on agriculture and the trade on the Rhone, as the ports testify some to the Walnut tree or Drizzle. Two mills were in the vicinity: the mill of Drizzle (or Purple mill) and the mill of Avaux. Mills belonging to Pierre d' Optevoz were already mentioned in XIIIè S. in Avaux; the current mills functioned until 1926 before being repurchased by " the Company of the Silk of Paris".
