Hexagonal Number
A hexagonal number is a Nombre illustrated which can be represented by a Hexagone. For a natural entirety not no one N , the hexagonal number of row N is N (2 N - 1). The first hexagonal numbers are:
1, 6, 15, 28, 45, 66, 91, 120, 153, 190, 231, 276, 325, 378, 435, 496, 561, 630, 703, 780, 861, 946
Any hexagonal number is a triangular Nombre, but certain triangular numbers are not hexagonal numbers. As for a triangular number, the Résidu of a natural entirety bases 10 of a hexagonal number of them can be only equal to 1,3,6 or 9.
Entire superior at 1791 can be expressed like a sum of with more the four hexagonal numbers, a result shown by Adrien-Marie Legendre in 1830.
The hexagonal numbers should not be confused with the centered hexagonal numbers which appear in the standard packing of the frankfurters.
