Hevra kaddisha

A will hevra kaddisha (חברהקדישא: " Parliament sainte" or " Parliament of sainteté" , Company of the last duty in France; plur. “hevrot kaddisha) is a company freely structured but organized enough and closed, making to office of undertaking, composed members Juif S of the two kinds, which deal with preparing the bodies of late (Jews) in accordance with the rites of the Halakha (Jewish Law) and take care of that they are not désécrés (voluntarily or not) until the Enterrement.
Deux fundamental requirements are to show the respect appropriate to the body, and the ritual cleaning of the body, before its clothing for the burial.

The task of the will hevra kaddisha is regarded not only as honourable but very creditable and actually only exceeded by the study of the Torah, as it is known as (Shabbat Treaty):

Here the things whose man eats the fruits in this world and perceives usufruct in the Monde to come: the respect of the father and the mother, the generosity, to raise it morning to go to the house of study the morning and the evening, the introduction of hosts, the visit with the patients, the introduction of promised in marriage, the accompaniment of late the , the attention the prayer, the contribution of peace enters the man and his next; and the study of the Torah overrides all.
Indeed, to deal with death is a favor which the member elect cannot return, which makes it not involved and devoted par excellence .
Le work of the 'Hevra kaddisha is thus called " “hessed Shell emet" (" a generous act of vérité" , i.e. true), qualifier drawn from (in the version Louis Segond: " When Israel approached the moment of its death, it called his son Joseph, and says to him: If I found thanks to your eyes, mets, I request from you, your hand under my thigh, and uses towards me of kindness and fidelity : do not bury me in Egypt!).

In the middle of the functions which the company must fill is the ritual of purification, or Tahara . The body is initially entirely washed body dust, fluids and residues, and all that could be on the skin.
Le body is then ritually purified by immersion in a Mikvé or a continuous rinsing. The term of Tahara can be used to indicate the only ritual purification or the whole of the procédure.
Once the purified body, the body is equipped in takhrikhim identical , white cloths for each Jew and symbolically pointing out the clothing worn by the Large Priest. The men are also vêtus of their Tallit. Once the equipped body, the coffin is sealed.

The company can also provide shomrim (watchers) to take care of the integrity of the body until the burial (although in certain communities, this role is held by a close relation of the missing). Although in the beginning, the role of the shomrim was especially to secure the late one against the flight, it is currently more a question of honouring it, and of raising its heart by reciting Tehillim (Psalms).

The 'Hevra kaddisha also deals with quite particular task, which is to deal with the people died without close family. Those are called " puts mitzvah " (a death of Mitzvah), because it was prescribed to bury it dead that one finds on the way, was one Cohen, even Cohen Gadol (which does not have normally the right to be with less than six feet of a corpse). To deal with puts mitzvah virtually includes all the positive regulations of the Torah.

Many of these companies hold one or two days of fast annual, and organize training seminars continues in order to remain in adequacy with the rites and suitable practices. Moreover, much of 'Hevrot deal with the families endeuillées during the Shiv' ah (traditional week of mourning) by organizing offices of prayer and other needs.

In Europe, these companies are a Community service, but in the United States, they are much more often organized by a particular Synagog to which they are attached. However, all the synagogs do not have one 'will hevra kaddisha particular.
