Hetmanat cossack
The Hetmanat cossack is the military, political and social organization of the Ukrainian Cosaque S of the XVIIe at the 18th century. Hetmanat cossack was directed by the hetman and the assembly of the Cossacks called Rada. It was made up in central Ukraine on banks of the Dniepr. The Cossacks fought the Poland, later the Russia for their independence.
The most known hetmans were Bogdan Khmelnitski, Petro Sahaïdatchnyï and Ivan Mazeppa.
With the turning of the XVIIIe century, the hetmanat was the country best taught reading and writing of all the Europe. There were schools in the majority of the villages, the Ukrainian Cossacks were known to be people educated very well. The hetmans Bohdan Khmelnytskyï, Petro Sahaïdatchnyï and Ivan Mazepa could speak several languages.
The official disappearance of the hetmanat will be the work of the tsarina Catherine II.
It also a short period ago of Hetmanat in 1918 with the hetman Pavlo Skoropadskyï.
