Herzberg amndt Harz

---- Herzberg amndt Harz is a town of Germany located in Lower Saxony in the district of Osterode. The " city; mountain of heart to the résine" is at the beginning of the small river of Sieber of medium mountains resin. De Goettingen, the mountain of heart is 32 km in a direction of the North-East, 90 km of Hanover in a direction of south-east.

In the past, Herzberg had an important industry of Fonderie, agricultural machinery, and the manufacture of boots. In 2004, the population of Herzberg is of 14.872 inhabitants and the mayor is Gerhard Walter of the Union Christian Democrat of Germany.

Herzberg is the center of the Interkultura Centro Herzberg , a club which supports the language Esperanto. In 2006, the municipal council decided to baptize Herzberg die Esperanto-Stadt (“the city of Esperanto”).

The castle of Herzberg for the first time is mentioned in 1154. The city belonged to the state of Brunswick-Grubenhagen, and the castle had, during a certain time, summer used like residence of the dukes. Herzberg became a Ville in 1929.
