Herve Morin , born the August 17th 1961 with Pont-Audemer (the Eure), is a Politician French, Minister for Defense of the government Francois Fillon since May 18th, 2007 (renewed in the government Francois Fillon 2 the June 19th 2007). He was elected Député the June 10th 2007.

He is married with the lawyer E Catherine Broussot-Morin. They have together Jumeaux 12 years old.

Biography

Herve Morin is wire of Maçon. After studies with Caen, then with Paris (diploma of IEP of Paris, Control of Public law), he became administrator of the services of the National Assembly (1987 - 1993 and 1998).

He was also part-time lecturer to the Université Paris V - Rene Descartes (1989 - 95). He entered to the ministry for Defense in 1993, like adviser technical in charge with the relations with the Parliament, the domanial businesses and the questions of environment to the cabinet of François Léotard, Minister of state, Minister for Defense.

Of 1995 with 1997, he is operations manager near François Léotard, Député of the Var.

He becomes national secretary then executive vice-president of the UDF of 1999 with 2007. Acting general of the UDF, in load of the project (2000), he is spokesperson of the presidential campaign of Francois Bayrou in 2002. Elected official Appointed for the first time in 1998, he is president of the group UDF with the National Assembly of 2002 to 2007. He leaves Francois Bayrou to join Nicolas Sarkozy (which he had violently attacked) between the two turns of the presidential election of 2007.

He is re-elected appointed with the first turn the June 10th 2007 with 50,05%, for XIIIe legislature (2007 - 2012), in the 3rd district of the the Eure.

Closely related to the electoral campaign for the presidential of Francois Bayrou in 2007, it invites during the interval turns to vote Nicolas Sarkozy, refusing any alliance with the Socialist party. It launches a new political party baptized the Nouveau Center, which wishes to become the center pole of the UMP and which introduces some eighty candidates to the legislative elections of June 2007. July 2nd, 2007, he becomes the first president of the Nouveau Center.

May 18th, 2007, it is named Minister for Defense in the government Francois Fillon (renewed in the government Francois Fillon 2 on June 19th, 2007) with in the chair Nicolas Sarkozy.

Herve Morin is at the origin of the Serment of Épaignes in favor of the Réunification of Normandy lent on November 26th 2006 to Épaignes, city of which he is mayor since 1995.

He is member of the board of directors of the Institut of International relations and Strategic.

He has, in partnership with associates, racehorses, of which the champion Literato bought 40.000 €, victorious of the Champion Stakes in England and second of the Prix of the Jockey-Club.

  • Herve Morin yields his seat of deputy of the Eure in the 3rd district on July 20th, 2007 to midnight with Marc Vampa - his substitute - Mayor of Beaumesnil (the Eure).
