Toponymy
The toponym Herrère appears in the forms Ferrere (1385, censier of Béarn), Ferere (1433, notaries of Oloron), Will shoe (1546, reformation of Béarn) and Midsummer's Day de Ferrère (1656, insinuations of the diocese of Oloron).
History
Paul Raymond note that in 1385, Herrère counted 35 fires and depended on the Bailliage of Oloron.
