Hero in spite of him

Héros in spite of him is an American film carried out by Stephen Frears, left in 1992.

Synopsis

One evening, at the wheel of its car, Bernie Laplante, a small poor swindler and " Beauf ", sees a commercial aircraft being crushed under its eyes; the plane will explode soon, its door is blocked and the passengers will die if somebody does not intervene immediately. Although it is not animated by heroic feelings, Bernie opens the door and thus saves the passengers. It as quickly as possible leaves the place of the accident, after having lost a shoe, without nobody being able to distinguish his face. The next morning, Bernie meets one without fixed residence, John Bubber, to whom it gives his second shoe after him to have entrusted the history of the air crash.

The media seek to know the identity of the man who saved the passengers of the plane. A television channel proposes a million dollars to that which will be able to prove that it is " the angel of the flight 104". The shoe of Bernie was found on the place of the accident and could be identified like pertaining to the saver. John Bubber, who holds the second shoe, can be thus made pass for " the angel of the flight 104" , to receive the million dollars in the place of Bernie and to be greeted as a national hero.
