The Hermine of Nantes Atlantique is a professional club French of Basket-ball disputing in 2006 - 2007 the championship of France of Pro B, based with Nantes.

History

Hermine of Nantes seems to hold its name of 2 reasons, first of all the hermine in Héraldique appears frequently associated with Nantes and the Brittany in general, then the club is resulting from a district called the Hermitage. Always is it that Hermine of Nantes was based in 1891 under the name of the Nantes Children of Holy-Anne before becoming Hermine of Nantes in 1907, of the name that the section Gymnastique of this general sports club and multi-cultural had chosen in 1902. The Basket-ball appears within Hermine in 1927 although it is necessary to await 1932 for really speaking about section basketball and the matches which go with. The first results (champion of Anjou) will appear in 1942, but it will be necessary to wait still a little before speaking about elite. During the years 1950-1960, Hermine oscillates between the Division of Honor and the Division Excellence is the 2 higher division of the French championship. With reformulations of the championships to the beginning of the year 1960 then the successive rétrogadations, Hermine is found finally well low (in 1977), in the regional championship. But the club rebounds rather quickly and finds Main road 4 in 1979. Then it will be the rise in Main road 3 in 1981 and Main road 2 in 1992, before being found in Pro B in 1995. Since then, Hermine nourishes strong ambitions almost each year, but is often forced of the revoirs the fall. These ambitions are also illustrated in 2005 by the creation of a new entity: the Hermine Nantes Atlantic Pro , who distinguishes himself of advantage of the amateur part of the club.
