HERMES 2003, control and course of projects in the field of communication and information technologies (TIC), are an open standard of the Swiss federal administration and offer a comprehensive solution which meets the present needs for a project manager. The tailoring remains responsibility for the project manager, who is however guided in the step of adaptation according to two aspects: - the category of project: a project is characterized by its " importance" , its associated size or risks - the type of project: many types of projects are possible (development of an application, migration… the Hermes method supports two of them by providing a specific reference frame for each one:
In order to support the tailoring of a reference frame, the method has since 2006 of a software support " Hermes PowerUser" whose code is open.
The improvements of the method are supported by the USIC and controlled by Hermes Group" , an open committee of experts resulting from private, university world and federal authorities.
