Hermann von Fehling

Hermann von Fehling , German chemist, was born with Lübeck on June 9th, 1812 and died in Stuttgart in July 1885.

It enters to the Université of Heidelberg in 1835. After graduatebeing graduated, he works for Liebig with Giessen, where he will find the composition of the Paraldéhyde and the Métaldéhyde. In 1839 it is sharpened with the pulpit of chemistry to polytechnic of Stuttgart, which it will keep until three years before its death.

Its most known work is a method of analysis of sugars by the solution of Fehling. He also worked on the succinic acid and the Benzonitrile, before being mainly occupied by health questions public.

He contributed to the Handworterbuch of Liebig, Wöhler and Poggendorif, like with the Graham-Otto Textbook off Chemistry , and was member of the committee of revision of the Pharmacopoeia Germanica .
