Hermann Esser
Hermann Esser (July 29th 1900 with Röhrmoos close to Dachau - February 7th 1981 with Dietramszell) was one of the first companions of Adolf Hitler, a Journaliste and a civil servant of NSDAP at the time of the National-socialisme.
Political activities
Esser which was in the democratic beginning social entered in October 1919 to the DAP which was going later to become NSDAP. As from 1919, he was the editor association of the Völkischer Beobachter.
In 1923 Esser, which was regarded as a good speaker, became the first person in charge of the propaganda of the NSDAP. Until 1933, it was occupied in Munich as an editor association and a city council man, where he was also member of the Landtag of Bavaria, Minister for the Land of Bavaria and Chef of the Chancellery of the Land. From 1933 until the abolition of Landtag on January 30th, 1934 by the law on the rebuilding of Reich of January 30th, 1934 (RGBI. I S. 75) he was the president of Landtag of Bavaria. After that, it lost its political influence gradually. It moreover was implied in a difficult divorce in which even the Chancellery of Reich had to intervene. In 1935, the political career of Hermann Esser was in a dead end.
In 1939, one named it as favor, a Secretary of State to Reichministerium für Volsaufklärung und Propaganda. This function which was in fact without real influence ensured him of the sizeable incomes; Esser exerted however real responsibilities only for Fremdenverkehrsabteilung (administration in charge of tourism) for which it exerted the monitoring. At the same time, he was the president of Reichsfremdenverkehrsverbandes. From 1933 to 1945, he was member of the Reichstag where he exerted the functions of vice-president.
Esser was a fanatic anti-semite. In its work “Die jüdische Weltpest” (the world Jewish plague) published in 1939 and that it had finalized two months after the Pogrom S of November 1938, it made the point that the Jews had only what they deserved.
From 1945 to 1947, it was held by the Americans. Within the framework of the Denazification, Esser was classified like person in charge principal and condemned to five years of forced labors. It was slackened in 1952 and died in 1981 in Munich.
