Herman Boerhaave
In the Egyptian Mythology, Satis is a goddess associated with the the Nile and its cataracts. Its name, which comes from setji (to sow, to spread) and means “That which spreads”, confirms it in the function of that which spreads water that her husband, Khnoum, made spout out. Guardian goddess of Elephantine, it enters the triad room to with dimensions of Khnoum and Anoukis. She is the guardian of the cataracts of Esneh, Séhel and Philaé.
She is represented under the features of a capped woman of the white crown of High-Egypt decorated of two horns of antelope (or of gazelle).
