Heritage of the Celts

The Héritage of the Celts is a meeting of musicians originating in country claiming Celtic tradition , initiated by Jacques Benard and the Breton guitarist-singer daN Ar Braz . In 1991, it off left the album Borders Salt , whose song of the same title was going to become emblematic Heritage. In 1993, at the time of the 70ème Festival of Cornwall to Quimper, for the concert of fence, it brings together 75 musicians whose Donal Lunny, Shotts Pipe Band of Glasgow and the Bagad Kemper and also invites Alan Stivell. This one leaves in September the same year its album " Again" who will start again in the Années 1990 the movement which it had already popularized twenty years before and will revive the interest of the public for this music. The Héritage of the Celts then will install for a long time this rebirth in the musical landscape. The goal is to have the richness of the Celtic music in all its diversity. The artists come from all the surface Celte: the Brittany, the Ireland, the Scotland, the Wales, the Galicia, the Cornwall and also the Island of Man (to be noted the absence of artists of the Asturies). Among the most known, one can quote Elaine Morgan, Nollaig Casey, Karen Matheson (singer of the group Capercaillie), Yann-Fañch Kemener, Donald Shaw, Gilles Servat.

Many musicians, come from the Celtic grounds, took part in this musical adventure. Some have an international repute, others are less known. They did not take part all in the same recordings.

Bretagnes in Bercy

At the time of the Bretagnes concert in Bercy, the March 16th 1999, the Heritage of the Celts belongs to the guests at the sides in particular of Armens, Alan Stivell (a first), Tri Yann, Carlos Núñez. The titles of the Heritage appear on the second disc. Jean-Jacques Goldman and Michael Jones makes an appearance on the piece Left in peace .
