Herceg Novi
Herceg Novi (in Italian Castelnuovo ) is a city of Montenegro located at a few kilometers only of the Croatia. It is a tourist resort at the edge of the Bouches of Kotor. It is twinned with the town of Vauréal (Valley of Oise-France)
Tourism
Herceg Novi has an orthodoxe convent of Saint Sava in the vicinity (Monastère of Savina), located among luxurieux gardens. The monastery was founded at the 16th century, and is in particular known for its wrought iron work of the 17th century. Sahat-Kula (Turn of the clock) is a monument of the Turkish time which is in the center of the city and separates the low place from the city of the high place. Kanli-Kula is an Othoman fortress which was used as prison, whereas Spanjola is a fortification of the Rebirth dating from the time when the city had been removed with the Turks by the Spaniards.
