Herbie Mann
Herbie Mann , of its true name Herbert Solomon, is a Flûtiste of Jazz American born in 1930 and died in 2003. As of end of the year 50, Herbie Mann contributed to make flute an instrument of jazz which it mixed with the African music then with the Brazilian music (Bossa nova). It begins with Mat Mattews (with the accordion) and Carmen McRae (with the voice). He played with Carlos " Patato" Valdes, Baden Powell, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Clark Terry, Bill Evans… On the albums " Flutte soufflé" and " Flight" flute; , he plays sides of another flutist: Bobby Jaspar . Before the flute is its instrument of predilection, Herbie Mann played of the tenor and the low clarinet.
