Herbeville

Herbeville is a common Frenchwoman located in the department of the Yvelines and in the area Île-de-France.

Its inhabitants is called the Herbevillois .

Geography

The commune of Herbeville, rural and partially timbered, extends on the slopes dominating the valley from the Mauldre, in western limit of the plain of Versailles. It is to 20 km in the south-east of Mantes-the-Pretty, its chief town of district.

The communes bordering are the Alluets-the-King in the North-East, Crespières in south-east, Mareil-on-Mauldre in south-west, Maule in the west and Bazemont in north on approximately 500 Mr.

In the road traffic organization, the commune is served by communal roads. It is connected, towards south-east, with the secondary road 307 and Crespières by the road of Boulémont which passes in front of the castle. A road centered North-South longe the village in its western end, driving, towards north, with the secondary road 45 (the Alluets-the-King and Maule) and, towards the south, with Mareil-on-Mauldre and the secondary road 191.

In the railway plan, the Gare of Mareil-on-Mauldre is the station the SNCF nearest and the Gare of Maule is hardly more distant.

History

The name of “Herbeville” would be derived from a Gallo-Roman name, Charibertus .
