Herbert William Oakey
Herbert William Oakey is a South-African Naturaliste , born in 1848 with Tauton, Somersetshire and dead the November 14th 1884 with the Cape.
At the 22 years age, he becomes the assistant of the professor Sir William Boyd Dawkins (1837-1929), of the natural history museum of Owens College (today Université Victoria) of Manchester. In 1877, it joined the rows of the assembled police force of the Cape and starts to study the Oiseau X of the area of the Transkei. It obtains a station of conservative attending the natural history museum of the Cape where its geological knowledge and its capacities are appreciated to assemble skeletons. It makes appear several publications on the anatomy and manners of the snakes of South Africa.
