Herbert Jonckers
Herbert Jonckers born with Brussels in 1953 and deceased with Santiago of Chile in 1996, is a painter and Belgian Scénographe .
Biography
Of 1972 with 1977, it studies the Architecture of interior in the University of Arts of the Instituts St-Luc of Brussels.He works then as poster artist, advertizing draftsman, decorator and scenographer, amongst other things for RTBF and the university Théâtre of Leuwen-the-New, while carrying out various exposures of his paintings, with Antwerp, Amsterdam and Brussels.
Its meeting in 1980 with the Dramaturge Ramón Griffero is determining. It carries out the Scénographie, supplements, decorations, costumes and make-up, of two Belgian creations of the Chilean author, Opéra for a shipwreck and Altazor equinox . When, in 1982, Griffero regain Santiago of Chile, Herbert Jonckers accompanies it. It is in Chile, where it settles definitively, which it carries out the most significant part of its career.
During the fourteen years of its Chilean period, it carries out the scenography of almost about thirty theatrical works and dance, choosing a complete work method, integral decorations, costumes, accessories, forms, textures and colors, bringing a new glance to the contemporary Chilean scene.
He collaborates with many directors, working so much for the institutional theaters, of which the Chilean National theater, which alternate. Its work is distinguished in 1994 and 1995 by price APES (Asociación of periodistas of espectáculos) from the best scenographer, and in 1995 by the price of criticism, for its work with the National theater.
Starting from 1995, it teaches scenography with the Université of Chile.
In 1996, it takes part in the creation of the school of theater Matriz , with Valparaiso, of which the theater with receipt her name.
Commemoration
On the occasion in 2006, tenth birthday of its disappearance, various demonstrations are organized in Santiago.
A traditional exposition with the work of Herbert Jonckers is inaugurated by the Minister for the culture, Paulina Urrutia with the library of Santiago within the framework of the meetings of Scenic arts. To this occasion are also presented the book and Dvd, Poétiques of scenic space - Herbert Jonckers 1981/1982 , carried out by Ramón Griffero.
