Herbert Grönemeyer

Herbert Arthur Wiglev Clamor Grönemeyer (born the April 12th 1956 with Göttingen) is a German song writer and performer very popular in German-speaking space. Before launching out in the song, this " child of Ruhr" is its first successes on scene and in front of the camera. In 1981 he interprets with brilliance the role of Lieutenant Werner in the film Das Boot of Wolfgang Petersen with dimensions of Jürgen Prochnow. With Bochum it publishes the German album which had the greatest success of the years '80s. In 1994 he is the first singer not-english-speaking invited to the emission MTV Unplugged. In 1998 it loses in the space of a few days his Wilhelm brother and his Anna wife. After one long period of mourning it publishes in 2002 the album Mensch . The song of the same title quickly becomes its first song “number 1”. The album is sold with more than 3 million specimens, nearly 2 million people attend the concerts of the round.

It was selected in 2005 to sing " Zeit, dass sich was dreht" , the Official Anthem of the World cup 2006, in company of the couple Malian Tinder & Mariam. Several of these songs, like Männer , Alkohol , Der Weg , Demonstration (letzter Tag) or Mensch , are the true traditional ones of the music of German variety. Its texts are often truffles of word games and thus not easily translatable.
