Heraldic authority of Canada
The heraldic Autorité of Canada is the agency of the Gouvernement of Canada charged with the Héraldique to the Canada. The Authority is responsible for the creation and concession of Armoiries, of the Drapeau X and Insigne S for the Canadian citizens, the permanent residents and the moral persons of the country. The Authority records also the already existing armorial bearings having been allotted by other recognized heraldic authorities, approves the badges and military flags of the Canadian Armed forces, records genealogical information related to the concession of the armorial bearings, and provides information on the heraldic practices. The heraldic Authority of Canada is the equivalent of the College off Arms of England or the Court off the Lord Lyon in Scotland.
