Henry the Ox

Henry the Ox is a Banquier, Mécène and Belgian music lover born with Schaerbeek in 1874.

Son-in-law of Albert Thys of which he married the Louise girl, he left his name to the principal room of the Palais of the Art schools of Brussels (1929, 2200 places), from which he promoted the foundation and the financing. This room was built by the architect Victor Horta.

Henry Lebœoeuf occupied the castle of his father-in-law with Dalhem and it contributed to the embellishment of this locality by various always visible urbanisitic interventions nowadays: embellishments of houses and medieval ruins, restoration of the town hall (commemorative plaque sealed in the pinion), construction of residences for artists and musicians in particular, pavement of various streets.
