Henry Stuart (Lord Darnley)

Henry Stuart known as Lord Darnley (December 7th 1545 - 9 or February 10th 1567), Duke of Albany and King consort of Scotland, was the second husband of its cousin Marie I {{Re}} of Scotland, Reine of Scotland.

He was the son of Matthew Stewart, 4th Count de Lennox, and of Marguerite Douglas, niece of the king Henri VIII of England and half-sister of the king Jacques V of Scotland, father of the queen Marie Stuart.

He married in 1565, at the 20 years age, Marie Stuart, Reine of Scotland, his cousin, who had conceived for him a sharp passion. By this marriage, it became Duc of Albany.

They had in 1566 a son who reigned, as of 1567, under the name of Jacques VI of Scotland. This one succeeded later in 1603 Elisabeth I {{Re}} under the name of Jacques Ier of England.

He persecuted all those which he believed the favorites of the queen, and made put at death, in the apartment even of Marie Stuart, Rizzio, secretary of the queen (1566), whom he suspected. He perishes itself in the night of the February 9th 1567, the house where he was having exploded. Marie Stuart and Bothwell were shown of this murder.
