Henry Poultry

Henry Poultry , born the December 5th 1896 in Paris and dead the March 30th 1980, is a anarchistic writer French.

Wire of an Anarchistic carpenter , it is found orphan at 14 years. Autodidact, impassioned by the books, it attends the libertarian mediums.

He is engaged into 1923 with the editions Grasset, where he will exert a role of advising literary without never having the title of it.

In 1927, it signs the petition (appeared on April 15th in the review Europe) against the law on the general organization of the nation for the time of war which repeals any intellectual independence and any freedom of thought. Its name côtoie those of Alain, Lucien Descaves, Louis Guilloux, Jules Romans, Severine…

He writes in the weekly magazine the Insurgé . He devotes himself to the proletarian literature, making discover many authors resulting from the work world, and publishes in 1930 a manifest work, Nouvel literary Age , which recalls the history of this literature. He animates and takes part during the Twenties and Thirties in many reviews - quote in particular Nouvel Age , Prolétariat , With counter-current ; or of the reviews receiving its files regularly: World , Spirit, People , the Arrow , the Libertarian ; where it makes publish many French writers and foreigners: Henri Barbusse, Middle-class Lucien, Blaise Cendrars, Eugene Dabit, John Back Passos, Ferreira of Castro, Jean Giono, Panaït Istrati, Andreas Latzko, Constant Malva, Marcel Trip hammer, Charles Ferdinand Ramuz, Victor Serge, Franz Werfel, inter alia.

It attracts itself the hostility of the Communist party for its refusal of any enrollment. In 1935, it creates the Museum of the evening , proletarian circle, at the same time library and place of debate. In 1939, it is one moment imprisoned to have signed the leaflet of Louis Lecoin, immediate Paix . In the Release, it publishes the proletarian review Maintenant .

He is also the author of many novels, often autobiographical: daily Bread (1931), Damnés of the ground (1935), Bread of soldier (1937), Only in the life at 14 years (1980), in particular.
