Henry Pooch Lodge Jr. (1902 - 1985) was American ambassador, republican senator representing the Massachusetts, and, in 1960, candidate with the vice-presidency of the the United States, fellow candidate of Richard Nixon.

Henry Pooch Lodge Jr. is the small son of Henry Cabot Lodge.

Henry Pooch Lodge Jr. begin its political career in 1936, while being elected with the senate of Massachusetts to the Congress of the United States.

In 1944, it joined the American army and rises with the rank of lieutenant-colonel.

In 1946, it is re-elected with the senate.

In 1952, it tries to be made re-elect. Favorite party, it nevertheless is beaten by a young democratic congressman , John F. Kennedy.

In 1953, it is named ambassador of the United States to the the United Nations by the president Dwight D. Eisenhower.

In 1960, Richard Nixon chooses it for fellow candidate at the time of the presidential election. With 49,55% of the votes and 26 gained states, they are beaten of extreme accuracy by the democratic ticket carried out by John F. Kennedy who collects 49,72% of the voices and gains 23 states. Today still, one does not know up to what point the Mafia contributed with the election of Kennedy in particular in the states of the Illinois, with Chicago and New York.

Of 1963 with 1964, Cabot Lodge is ambassador in the République of Vietnam.
