Henry Lewis Stimson
Henry Lewis Stimson (September 21st 1867, October 20th 1950) was a politician of the the United States. He was Secretary of State under the administration Hoover of 1929 with 1933, secretary of the War and general governor of the Filipino .
The Doctrines Stimson
At the time of the Japanese conquest of the Manzhouguo in 1931, Stimson formulated the doctrines according to which one could not diplomatically recognize a State conquered by the armed force.
The “saver” of Kyōto
During the Second world war, it was favorable to the use of the atomic bomb against the Japan but was opposed savagely to the destruction of the town of Kyōto; a city which it affectionnait particularly but which was in first on the black list of the staff.
