Henry Hobson Richardson is an American architect , (1838 - 1886) which applied the eclectic tendency and diffused the precepts of the Académie of the Art schools in its country.

Biography

Born in Louisiana, he studies initially with Harvard. In 1859, it is established some time in Paris. On its return in 1865, it founds an agency of architecture to Boston.

Achievements

He worked especially on behalf of the American big families, in particular for the Hearts of the Massachusetts.

  • in North Easton (Massachusetts), it drew the plans of the library ( Ames Library , 1877-1879), of the hotel-of-city (1879-1881, Ames Town Hall ) and of the station (1881)
  • in Boston, it builds two office buildings for the Hearts and the Trinity Church , in style néoroman (1872).

  • house of Mrs. F. Stoughton in Cambridge (1882-1883)
  • Law courts and prison of the county of Allegheny (1884-1888).
