Henry Hallam

Henry Hallam (July 9th 1777 with Windsor - January 21st 1859), English historian.

He studied with Oxford worked early with the Revue of Edinburgh , from which he became one of the principal writers, published in 1818 the Tableau of Europe to the Middle Ages ; in 1827, constitutional History of the England , and ten years after the Introduction to the literary History of Europe to XVe, XVIe and XVIIe centuries .

These works, fruits of major research, and written with method and elegance, obtained a legitimate success, and were immediately translated into French (by Mr. Guizot and Alphonse Borghers). Hallam was one of the directors of the British Musée. It was associated Institut of France, where its praise was read by François-Auguste Mignet, 1862.
