Henry-Eugene Delacroix
Henry-Eugene Delacroix , born with Solesmes the January 16th 1845 and dead the April 26th 1930, is a French painter.
He is the principal author of paintings of the church and the town hall of Solesmes. Recognized by its contemporaries, it fell today into the lapse of memory. It shares its purgatory with good number of minor artists of the 19th century, commonly called “artists firemen”.
Formed to its trade of painter in the workshops of Robert Fleury and Alexandre Cabanel, it exposes several times to the Parisian Salon as of 1873.
The many rewards which are then decreed to him assoient its notoriety near the public. In 1888, he becomes member of very influential the Société of the French artists, charged with the organization of the Living room. In 1894, it is made chevalier of the Legion of Honor.
With died of his wife in 1912 it multiplies the stays in Haute-Garonne. One two brings back it to Saint-Lily, where it signs six paintings distributed between two vaults of the Saint-Julien church. Delacroix ends up settling definitively in his/her son with Tonneins (47), where he dies at the 85 years age.
