Henri the Fountain
Henri-Marie the Fountain (April 22nd 1854 - May 14th 1943), was born with Brussels from a middle-class family.
Registered with the Universit3e libre de Bruxelles in Right, it carries out a training course at Edmond Picard (1836 - 1924). Impassioned by the alpinism, the literature and the policy, he writes several works on these subjects. Its meeting with Paul Otlet (1868 - 1944) the conduit to take part in the publication in 1890 of a Test of bibliography of Peace and to support the project of the Mundaneum. It also invests with the publication of the universal Decimal system (CDU).
It takes part very early in the political life of the Belgium while being senator of several province, and firmly defends its opinions on education, the women's right, etc It contributes to the creation of the Permanent International office of Peace (IBP) and as of 1907 chairs it.
Henri the Fountain receives the Nobel Prize of peace in 1913 and publishes in 1916 The great solution: magnisissima charta . In this work, it defends the idea of an international organization of the professional work.
He dies in Belgium on May 14th, 1943.
