Henri de Sandomierz

Henri de Sandomierz (in Polish Henryk Sandomierski ) (1130 - October 18th 1166), of the dynasty of the Piasts. It was duke of Sandomierz of 1146 with 1166. It is one of wire of Boleslas III the Stop-Chest and of Salome von Berg-Schelklingen, his second wife.
The will of his/her father Boleslas III the Stop-Chest (deceased in 1138) makes to it the heir to the duchy of Sandomierz. Too much young person to control, it is private of its duchy which it will find only in 1146 when his/her brothers Boleslas IV Curly the of Mazovie and Mieszko III the Old man of Large-Poland drive out Ladislas II the Outlaw.
In 1149, it organizes with his/her brother Boleslas IV Curly military forwarding to support Iziaslav II Kiev.
In 1154, Polish Henri and other knights take part in the Croisade until Jerusalem. On its return, it is invested in the foundation of many churches. It invites the Ordre of Templiers which it installs in the village of Zagość where a monastery and a hospital will be built.
It sets up with his two brothers Boleslas IV the Curly one and Mieszko III the Old man of the campaigns miltaires of Christianisation of the people close to the Poland. It is during one of these campaigns (directed by Boleslas IV the Curly one) against the Prussian that it is killed the October 18th 1166.
Henri de Sandomierz had designated his young brother Casimir like heir. This heritage is disputed by the two older brothers who divide the duchy in three parts, Casimir obtaining only the area of Wiślica.
