Henri de Lescoët

Born in 1906 with Anjouan (the Comoros), Henri de Lescoët is a poet, translator, editor and revuist French.

Installed in Nice, it very early published its first collections of poems, then it founded and directed the editions of the " Islands of " Lérins" starting from 1929. In 1940, it founded the editions and the review " Literary profile of France" who, appearing in Nice, collected the texts of the writers being in free zone, review in which collaborated Georges Ribemont-Dessaignes starting from 1942. After war, the review carried on its way by changing several times of name: " Abordages" , " Septembre" …

Elegist, a writing turned towards the traditional one, it did not approach less École Rochefort and belonged to their books of them twice, in 1942 and 1944. What proves the open-minded existing at the " Friends of Rochefort" and, in return, which will undoubtedly have influenced the poet in his evolutions towards a less formal writing.
