Henri Valensi

Henri Valensi (1883 - 1960) is a French painter born with Algiers, founder of the current effusionnist or Musicalisme in reference to a poem of the Correspondences of Baudelaire. It exposed regularly to the Salon Comparisons.

Biography

He studies painting under the direction of Jules Lefebvre and Tony Robert-Fleury at the School of the Art schools of Paris, on the councils of Bonnat.

Intérressé by the movement orientalist, the young painter carries out to the war of 1914 of many voyages in whole Europe as far as Greece and in Turkey. Since 1905, it exposes to the Living room of the Orientalists and as from 1907 to the Living room of Independent in Paris. Its painting is then close to the neo-impressionism. It shows shining landscape designer, recognized in all the countries where it travelled. In 1912 it takes part in the creation of the Section of Gold at the sides of Marcel Duchamp, Dumont, Albert Gleizes and Picabia.

Since 1932, Henri Valensi publishes in the sides of Charles White-Gatti, Gustave Burgundy and Vito Stracquadaini the " Proclamation of the Musicalistes" artists; and founds the Association of the Artists Musicalistes . According to its theories, the fabric is as a vertical partition where the artist superimposes the various sensory aspects of the same vision, integrating the rate/rhythm, the dynamism, symbolization… The Musique reflects according to him the scientific dynamism of the XXème century. It organizes since 1832 the first of the twenty-three Salons Musicalistes in Paris (Gallery Rebirth). These living rooms will accommodate new artists musicalists: Louise Janin, Kupka, Lempereur-Haut, etc Of the exposures musicalists takes place inter alia in Prague (1936), Amsterdam (1937), Bratislava (1938)… In 1973 the first retrospective of the Living rooms musicalists to the Hexagramme gallery takes place in Paris. Valensi is represented with the Paris-Moscow exposure to the center Georges Pompidou in 1979.
