Henri Troyat
Henri Troyat , of his true name Lev Aslanovitch Tarassov ( Russian ЛевАслановичТарасов in , Levon Aslan Torossian in Armenian), born on November 1st 1911 (according to the orthodoxe calendar) with Moscow and dead the March 2nd 2007 with Paris, is a writer French of Russian origin . In its book of memories if long way , appeared in 1976, it however clearly confirms the origin Arménie of his/her father and his mother.
Biography
The family of Henri Troyat expatriate of Russia the shortly after the revolution of 1917, to settle in France in 1920. Born on November 1st, 1911, Henri Troyat makes all his studies in France, with the college Pasteur of Neuilly-sur-Seine. He obtains then a license in Droit.
During its particularly prolific career of novelist and biographer, he writes more than one hundred works. He is elected member of the French Academy in 1959, with armchair 28, the place of Claude Farrère.
He becomes writer with the prefecture of the the Seine in 1935. The same year, its first novel, False day, receives the Prix of the populist novel. In 1938, it obtains the Prix Goncourt for its novel Araigne . In 1940, it begins a great epopee inspired of its memories of Russia, As long as the Earth will last (three volumes), with a continuation entitled the Sowing and the Harvests (5 volumes).
It is deceased in Paris on Sunday, March 2, 2007, at the 95 years age. The religious ceremony took place on March 9th with the Cathédrale Saint Alexandre Nevski which preceded its burial with the Cimetière by Montparnasse.

In 2003, Henri Troyat and the editions Flammarion were condemned for Plagiat (“partial Contrefaçon” is the legal term) concerning its biography of Juliette Drouet, the mistress of Victor Hugo, published in 1997. The Court of Appeal of justice of Paris condemned them to pour: 45000 euros of damages to Gerard Pouchain and Robert Sabourin, authors of the book Juliette Drouet or dépaysée the (ED. Beech, 1992). Henri Troyat provided himself in cassation, then desisted. The French Academy, contrary to its statutes (article 13), did not take a sanction against its Immortal, 85 years old at the time of plagiarism.
