Its career
Although 15 years its junior, he was the brother of the legend of hockey Maurice “Rocket” Richard. As it was smaller, measuring only 5 feet 7 inches (1 m 70) and weighing only 160 lbs (73 kg), it was called “Pocket Rocket”.
Whereas Rocket drew on the left, Henri drew on the right. Maurice played Ailier, but Henri played center. In general, the style of play of the two brothers was very different. Henri made the most decisive master keys in the LNH in 1957-1958 and 1962-1963, an exploit ever equalized by his famous brother.
Henri gained 11 cuts Stanley, more than any other player in the history of the LNH.
In 1957-1958, it was selected for the first match of stars and in 1959, it was selected for the second team of the match of stars.
During its career, it marked 358 goals and made 688 decisive master keys in 1256 parts.
It was appointed captain of the Canadians in 1971 and always carried the number 16, which was withdrawn by the team in her honor. Henri took his retirement in 1975 and was elected with the Temple of re-elected hockey in 1979.
