Henri Pharaon
Henri Pharaon (1898 - 1993) is a politician, business man and Lebanese patron.
Born in Egypt in a rich person family from merchants greque-catholic, it makes his studies in Europe. A long time the richest man of the Lebanon, it played a part in 1943 in the Independence of the country. Partisan of a peaceful coexistence between Christians and Moslems of Lebanon, it was rather hostile with the positions side-Arabic of certain politicians Lebanese and wanted to reduce the influence of the Arab Ligue, during his creation.
He was appointed at the Lebanese Parliament between 1943 and 1947 and Foreign Minister between 1946 and 1947, during the mandate of President Béchara el-Khoury and the Prime Minister Riyadh be-Solh.
He is assassinated in August 1993 in a chambre¸ of the Carlton hotel to Beirut.
